Our Approach to Patient Care
We take a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to healthcare tailored to your individual needs.
Our goal is to provide clear communication, continuity of care and support that helps you feel confident in your health decisions.
Appointments and Consultations
Consultations are normally by appointment, but the first available doctor will see urgent cases
Longer Consultations: Please let the reception know if you need to book a long appointment, e.g for several problems or a Pap Smear or annual health check.
Home and Nursing Home Visits: Home visits are available for regular patients of our practice with substantial illness or mobility problems, subject to discussion with his/her doctor.
Walk-ins are welcome and will be allocated the first available appointment and will usually be required to wait.
We provide tele-health services for non-urgent matters, you can schedule a telephone consultation with your doctor by phoning reception.
Appointments can be made online, Automed or by calling our friendly receptionists.
Fees and Bulk Billing
Our practice has signed up to be a Medicare Bulk Billing Practice. This means we will bulk bill all Medicare-eligible patients for all eligible services under the program.
We want to ensure we can provide affordable health care to our patients and our community. Increased government funding means we can offer bulk billing on eligible services and maintain business needs.
The additional funding makes it more viable for us to bulk bill everyone for all eligible services.
You will be bulk billed for eligible services under the program. These services include:
- GP consultations
- chronic condition management plans and reviews
- mental health treatment plans
- health assessments.
Some services are not eligible under the program, so you may still have to pay a fee for these services. These include:
- Procedures like skin excisions
- Diagnostic services like ECG and pathology
- Allied health and other non-GP services.
- Iron Infusions
Patients with no valid Medicare card will be privately billed. Details of these fees are available on enquiry when booking an appointment, and are also available for viewing in the waiting room. Fees are payable at the time of consultation, and we accept cash, EFTPOS and credit card.
Calling your doctor
Doctors located within this practice may be contacted by phone during normal surgery hours. If the doctor is with a patient, a message will be taken and your call returned as soon as possible.
Results
Sometimes the doctor will order investigations such as blood tests or x-rays. Patients are encouraged to book a return visit with the requesting GP for the follow up of test results. Lengthy and complicated discussions about results are best done in person during a consultation.
Confidentiality
This practice is dedicated to your confidentiality and privacy of health information. At times, the doctor participates in research, professional development and quality assurance. This can involve the collection of patient data. However this information is de-identified and those involved in analysis of the data would not be able to identify which patient has been included.
